Mix Bio-Oss® Mix Bio-Oss® in a container with autogenous bone, osseous coagulum, patient's blood or with sterile normal saline. Since Bio-Oss® is hydrophilic, the particles adhere well to one another. |
| |
|
Apply to the defect site Once saturated with saline or the patient’s blood, Bio-Oss® is placed into the defect site. Bio-Oss® is easily molded within the defect and exhibits optimal adhesion to the surrounding bony walls. Excessive compression of the Bio-Oss particles should be avoided in order to allow adequate space between particles for vascular in-growth. |
| |
|
Protect with Bio-Gide® The Bio-Oss® graft is covered with a Bio-Gide® membrane. The upper, or cell occlusive layer prevents in-growth of soft tissue into the grafted site and also supports overlying soft tissue growth. The rough, non-occlusive bottom layer helps stabilize the initial blood clot as well as integrates with and supports newly regenerated bone. |
