Osteohealth Company to Acquire Dental Therapeutics Business

– December 18, 2007 – Osteohealth Company, a Division of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc., announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement with BioMimetic Therapeutics, under which it will acquire substantially all of BioMimetic’s dental therapeutics business including the downstream formulation, fill and finish manufacturing rights of GEM 21S® Growth-factor Enhanced Matrix..
In addition, Osteohealth will acquire trademarks and regulatory filings related to the business and will be responsible for R&D related to new product development based on the previously licensed technology including GEM ONJ (rhPDGF-BB for the treatment of Osteonecrosis of the Jaw) for which BMTI has received Orphan Drug status from the US FDA.
